Free Practice Test

The Princeton Review occasionally offers free practice tests as a promotional tool. To find out if there is one in your area go to The Princeton Review website. Look for the find Course/Tutor on the left and enter MCAT and your zip code than click GO. On the next page check the far right tab for free events.

Sample Passages

There are a number of sources for free practice passages and free standing questions online. These are a great way to figure out what you do not know and what you need to further review. Make sure you know exactly why you got any of these questions wrong.


Kaplan
offers one passage for each of the sections as well as one practice writing section.

College Journal offers one passage for each of the three sections.

Best Sample Questions offers a number of sample questions for all of the sections of the MCAT. Some of them are of questionable quality.

Four Free Full Length Practice Tests Online

Practice is obviously essential to a good score. As an advertising tools some test prep companies offer free online practice tests and there is one free test online at the AAMC website. Here are links to those tests:

Kaplan This test can be taken in both test mode (just like a real MCAT) or tutor mode (untimed with explanations).

Want more tests? Have you checked your library? Lots of public libraries will have sample tests. Unfortunately they will be in the old paper and pencil format but they are still a great way to practice and figure out what areas of the test you have weaknesses in. Because they are not in the new format it is best to take these tests first and take the online tests later when you are trying to get a feel for the real test experience.
